We strive to offer great customer experiences. Please read this page carefully so that you will feel comfortable with your purchase and understand our return and exchange policies.  The #1 Rule Of Thinking About Returning An Item:  call us.  Most returns occur because the person doesn't understand how to operate what they bought.  Please call us with any questions, and keep a positive mindset that the first choice you made was the right choice.

 

 

New & Used Merchandise

Merchandise accompanied by an original receipt may be returned within 14 days of purchase unless excluded below or otherwise noted in the item description. Any item used improperly, modified, installed, damaged, or missing parts, packaging, or accessories is disqualified from this policy.  If we can't sell the item at the original price again because of cosmetic issues with the product or packaging there will be a restocking fee of 15%.
 
No refunds or exchanges are allowed for the following, they are sold "as is" with no implied warranty:  any open item that is bundled with licensed software or a software download, accordions, Closeouts, gift cards, harmonicas, individual reeds, Special Orders, vintage instruments, or any item used inside the ears or touching the mouth. Layaway payments, deposits, financed purchases and shipping costs are not refundable. Layaways not paid in full within 30 days may be returned to stock. All returned woodwind and brass instruments incur an $18 cleaning fee. Store Credit is not convertible to cash. Cash purchases over $50 refund by company check and all other payments refund to the original source.
 
 
 
 
 
Defective Merchandise Under Warranty
 
All new products are sold with their respective manufacturers warranties. Please note that warranty periods and services vary by manufacturer and product.  Some products require registration in order for a warranty claim to be filed, so please read and retain any and all documentation that came with your item.  Dirt Cheep Music only warranties Strauss, Brandenburg, and VRT products; any applicable warranty for other brands is offered by the manufacturer only and defective merchandise is subject to their terms of service.

Manufactures required that a copy of the original sales receipt accompany warranty claims.  Defective merchandise cannot be refunded, only exchanged if within the Exchange Period noted above.  Some manufacturers allow us to replace defective items in-store.  Most do not, and nearly all will only allow a warranty repair for defects within the warranty period.  Customers are typically responsible for shipping to the manufacturer.

Any return requiring shipment back to Dirt Cheep Music requires a written Return Authorization. Before you ship the item, email 
sales@dirtcheepmusic.com for authorization. Shipping charges are not refundable for voluntary returns.  Defective or incorrect items will be replaced promptly and shipping will be provided for the return.
